Elizabeth Ashley Wharton was born on September 3, 1963 in Fort Myers Beach, Florida. She was the youngest of the Putnam sisters, but her siblings, JoAnne and Jill, had both given birth before.

Elizabeth is the daughter of Nancy Ashley and Motley Crue singer and actor Angela Kinney. The two were married in 1967 and had two children together. Nancy died from a drug overdose five years later, while Angela became addicted to heroin after her marriage.

Elizabeth would have been named Nutty Cat

Elizabeth would have been named Nutty Cat if she hadn’t been born first. Her birth name is Ashley. She went by this name until her first child was born. It wasn’t until her next child was born that her family would decide to change her name. Her father wanted the name Ashley Putnam, but his son didn’t like it.

Melissa Putnam was born a month later. The couple were still trying to come up with an appropriate name for their baby girl, but once they found out that Melissa was the middle name they wanted, they changed it to Elizabeth Ashley Wharton. They then started calling the infant Elizabeth Ashley. Her siblings were born to different mothers, but all share the same middle name.

Elizabeth was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis

Elizabeth was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at the age of four and was given the condition and told she would need surgery to treat it. She was treated, but then she developed a lung infection, which required treatment, too. Her last child, another son, was born in 1997. By that time she was in and out of the hospital frequently because of a lung infection. She died on November 8, 1997 at the age of forty-five.

Elizabeth Ashley Wharton’s obituary was published in the Fort Myers Daily News on November 9, 1997. Her funeral held the following week was at Evergreen Cemetery in Cape Coral. Her ashes were scattered in Evergreen Park. Elizabeth was laid to rest beside her father.

Her parents’ family had many members who are still alive today. Elizabeth’s brother is the singer Jack Lawrence. Her sister is actress Pamela Anderson. Her cousin, former Florida Governor, and U.S. Senator, Jeb Bush, adopted Elizabeth as a foster child. Jeb has since become very close to her and Elizabeth is his stepdaughter.

Elizabeth’s story

Elizabeth’s story has inspired many people. In fact, the movie, “Queen of the Desert” about a mother who is a nurse fighting breast cancer, has made its way into theaters and is set to be released soon.

There are no known public records about Elizabeth Ashley Wharton’s life. Her obituaries are hard to find. Her obituaries were rarely listed in newspapers or magazines. She was one of the few celebrities whose death has not been recorded in a newspaper.
